Cabinet of the Student Body President
The Cabinet of the Student Body President is comprised of the senior leadership of the Executive Office of the Student Body President as well as the Class Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Secretary/Treasurers for each class.
Chief of Staff to the Student Body President:
Kate Boyd
The Chief of Staff supervises all members of the Executive Office of the Student Body President. The Chief of Staff works closely with the Student Body President to help craft the policy positions of the Executive Branch of Student Government.
Director of Student Government Policy:
Tanya Magesh
The Director of Student Government Policy runs the Office of Student Government Policy. The Director works with the Student Body President and the Chief of Staff to advance the policy positions of the Student Body President.
Student Government Treasurer and Deputy Attorney General:
Bella Burns
The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring that the Student Government Operating Budget is followed. They work with the Student Body President and Chief of Staff to ensure that all projects have sufficient funding and that all expenses and revenues are properly documented.
Bella Burns is a junior majoring in business fellows, economics, and professional writing and rhetoric with a minor in political science on the pre-law track. Bella has previously served within Baylor’s Student Government as a two-year senator with one year on the Senate Executive Council. Bella is excited to serve as deputy AG and Treasurer and focus on running the budget effectively and ensuring Stugov processes are constitutional. Bella is also involved in her sorority Chi Omega, Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, Baylor Undergraduate Law Review, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Attorney General:
Mike Chapple
The Attorney General is the head of the Office of the Attorney General. They are the chief advisor to the Student Body President on constitutional issues and make sure that all money allocated from the SGAF is spent properly and works to recover any misused money. The Attorney General is also responsible for determining the strategy the Student Government will use in the Student Court.
Mike Chapple is a senior from Jones, Oklahoma double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy. Within Student Government, Mike serves as Attorney General and is charged with advising the Student Body President and other branches, representing Student Government before the Student Court, and working to ensure the integrity of allocations from the Student Government Activity Fund
Communications Director:
Jaylin Ynigues
The Communications Director is the head of the Student Government Communications Office. They are in charge of running the office and communicating the activities of the Executive Branch to the rest of the University and the general public.
Jaylin is a Senior Political Science Major with a minor in Business Administration from Houston, TX! After graduation Jaylin is looking forward to attending law school.
In her position as Director of Communications, she is excited to help tell the story of Baylor Student Government to the greater Baylor community and Waco area. She is looking forward to brining greater awareness to Student Government activities and putting the Student back in Student Government!
Student Government Communications Office:
Director of Social Media: Grace Tharrington. The Director of Social Media shall manage the Baylor University Student Government's social media accounts and assist the Director and Deputy Directors of Communication in creating content for their following.
Press Secretary/Webmaster: Sydney Flinner. The Student Government Press Secretary and Webmaster shall assist in creating a monthly newsletter, developing press releases, and maintaining the Baylor University Student Government website.
Photographer: Will Harrison. The Photographer shall be responsible for taking photographs for official Student Government use.
Director of Graphic Design: Wriley Rhoads. The Student Government Director of Graphic Design shall create graphics for use in Baylor University Student Government content, publications, and other materials.
Videographer: Jackson Lawrence. The Videographer shall be responsible for taking videos for official Student Government use.
Student Government Secretary:
Charlie Taylor
The Student Government Secretary is the head of the Office of the Student Government Secretary. They take care of various tasks to ensure that the Executive Office of the Student Body President operates to the best of its abilities.
Charlie Taylor is senior History Major from Goochland County, Virginia, on the pre-med track at Baylor. Having loved my time here at Baylor, I joined Student Government to help create a Baylor that represents each and every student while ensuring that the things that make Baylor unique and special are maintained. Outside of school, I enjoy outdoor activities, trivia, and reading.
Director of Student Faith:
The Director of Student Faith shall serve under the Director of Student Government Policy and work to promote good spiritual habits and interfaith understanding. The Director shall serve as a point of contact between the Student Government and Baylor University Spiritual Life.
Director of Diversity:
Nick Hernandez
The Director of Diversity shall serve under the Director of Student Government Policy and work to develop policies, programs, and campus events that promote a more diverse and inclusive campus for all members and populations of the Baylor University Student Body.
Nick Hernandez is a Senior American Studies major focusing on History, Religion, and Political Science. After graduation Nick plans to obtain a PhD in History concentrating on 20th Century Latino voters in the United States.
As a First-Generation Latino student, Nick seeks to help make Baylor more inclusive for students of all backgrounds.
Nick is also a member of the Baylor University Men’s Choir, a McNair Scholar, and a Chairman for the Model Organization of American States.
