Executive Branch

The executive branch consists of the Student Body President and the Student Body External Vice President.

The Executive Branch Bylaws is the official document enumerating the responsibilities, duties, and operating guidelines for positions within the Executive Branch of the Baylor University Student Government. The bylaws were most recently amended in April 2026.

Lucy Dennis

Lucy Dennis is a junior University Scholar studying English Literature on the pre-law track with concentrations in Sociology, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric & Public Discourse. She is passionate about how storytelling and language shape human dignity, tradition, faith, and public service.

Lucy has served in Baylor Student Government since her freshman year as a Senator, Public Relations Committee Chair, Chaplain, and is thrilled to take on the role of Executive Vice President this year! She's drawn to both language and hands-on advocacy and brings a perspective to student leadership shaped by the humanities as well as practical service.

Beyond Student Government, Lucy has interned as a Legal Studies Fellow at the Washington Legal Foundation and as a Public Policy Fellow with the City of Waco's Housing and Community Development Department. This past summer, she furthered her interest in the intersection of faith and public life in Washington, D.C., through the Fellowship on Religion and Social Life. She currently works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the English Department, researching literature alongside contemporary social issues. That same interest shows up in her creative writing, which has been recognized by the Beall Poetry Festival and published in The Phoenix Literary Magazine, where she serves as a Poetry Editor. She's also a part of Chi Omega, the Getterman Scholars Program, and the Honors College, and is grateful for the community each has given her at Baylor.

Looking ahead, Lucy hopes to pursue a career exploring how narrative shapes legal structures, particularly through litigation, and is excited to continue serving Baylor as EVP this year!
